The role of mothers in the fight against children’s diseases.
The special province of the mother is the Prevention of the disease, not its treatment. When the disease attacks the baby, the mother has a role to play, which is especially important during lactation periods and childhood should take place well. I am referring to those duties that make up the maternal part of the management of the disease.
Medical treatment, for its success, depends on the careful, careful, and wise supervision of the mother. No medical remedy can be used, if the instructions are only executed, or if they are followed; and it will fail if faced with the erroneous prejudices of ignorant assistants. But for the feelings of childhood and infantilize, this observation applies with dominant force; since, at this time, the disease is very sudden in its aggressions and very rapid in its progression, so much so that, unless the prescribed measures are carried out and, its exposure soon becomes fruitless.
The amount of suffering can also be reduced by thoughtful and insightful attention to the mother. The desires and necessities of a small child should be foreseen; nervousness caused by illness, calmed down by gentle and affectionate persuasion; the likelihood that a sick and sensitive child will be exposed to cruel and not very pleasant behavior, planned.
Again, not only strict and strict adherence to medical guidelines in the administration of treatments, diet, and general measures necessary. An impartial, sincere, and complete report of symptoms to the doctor, when he visits his small patient, is of the first importance. An ignorant servant or nurse, unless the medical assistant exercises a great deal of caution, may make a poor impression in his mind, through an involuntary but erroneous report on the symptoms, regarding the actual state of the disease. Therefore, his rule may be biased in the wrong direction and the result may be detrimental to the patient’s well-being. The doctor cannot sit still hour after hour to observe the symptoms; hence, the great importance that they are reported. This alone can be played by a mother or a qualified person.
Other important considerations can be invoked here, proving how reliable the effective management of the mother at the time of illness is; but they will be discussed when the diseases with which they are especially associated are mentioned.
